USCIS_Immigration_ Green Card_ Announces Initiative: Be
Skeptical Paul M. Heller, Esq: Beware and be skeptical this
initiative is unlikely to change anything. USCIS culture and
perspective on employment-based immigration is the opposite of what
it should be. Ive read the USCIS guidelines and there is nothing
new, no new visa categories, additional visas or mandate or
direction to the adjudicators to focus on how to approve cases as
opposed to looking for ways to deny or harass intending those
seeking immigration. The police mentality will remain. Yesterday,
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano
and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director
Alejandro Mayorkasannounced a series of policy initiatives
designed to fuel the nations economy and stimulate investment by
attracting foreign entrepreneurs who can invest in fields of high
unemployment, create jobs, and form startup companies. Its
important that the agency keep this recognition in mind as it
adjudicates visa petitions and applications. The release of
theUSCIS guidelines coincided with ameeting in Palo
Alto, CA, of the Presidents Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
The meeting, which included a number of Silicon Valley
CEOsincluding Facebookhighlighted the need for reforms in both
